The crowd of the nearly sold out venue was a mixture of people including couples of varieties, shapes, and forms with a shared love for Tove Lo’s ability to give a voice to their stories and shared ideals. The Fillmore has hosted numerous shows of all genres since it opened a few years back but an argument could be made that none of them were as wonderful as the one that gathered for Tove Lo on a Sunday night. From the minute the doors opened there was an energy in the air of acceptance, happiness and unbridled loves as people were able to exist as their true selves surrounded by like minded/accepting people.
As the lights dimmed for Tove Lo’s arrival to stage the already unified crowd began to roar with approval as the Queen of the Clouds walked out from the side of the stage amid cascading LEDs burst to life around her. Tove Lo wasted no time getting the crowd moving as she danced across the stage right into “Glad He’s Gone” from ‘Sunshine Kitty’ as she promoted the crowd to sing along with her. She didn’t need to ask – they already were and they did for the duration of the night.
Tove Lo has evolved as a performer in her years of touring and she commanded the stage in Philadelphia as she danced and vibed with the crowd on every song. Whether it was stripping a jacket off, a quick change into outfit, dancing freely or jumping into the crowd – Tove Lo was as engaged with her crowd of fans as they were with her.
Across 22 songs Tove Lo gave the crowd everything and left it all on stage for Philadelphia with numerous highlights across a stellar lengthy performance. From start to finish the Swedish singer kept the crowd dancing and when the night ended everyone was left dying for more. Hopefully they won’t have to wait too long to dance with Tove Lo again in Philadelphia.
